safety
anarchy and particularly tranarchy can be a dangerous way to live. keep yourself and your comrades safe
protests
learn to identify the vibe of a protest. learn about the organisers. learn about what kind of people attend. from there you can gauge what level of safety meausres you need to implement
safety measures for protests:
- wear a mask to protect your identity and to prevent the spread of diesease to yourself and other attendees
- wear clothing which covers identifiable tattoos
- bring water, not just for yourself but for your comrades. if the weather is particularly hot, bring an electrolyte drink and be familiar with the signs of heatstroke
- avoid cameras and do not post pictures of yourself online
- if you are not the focus group demographic of the protest (ie a cis person at a rally for trans rights) then be available as a shield for the at-risk focus group. even if you are also an oppressed minority, usually counter protesters will be targetting the focus group over others
shoplifting
the ability to shoplift is key for any anarchist. keep in mind who your target is and what you want/need from them. avoid small buisnesses who dont have insurance against theft. target stores with minimum wage workers
- scope out your target before you hit. make a note of where cameras or security are
- if you do have some money, buy something cheap to mask that you are shoplifting
online safety
being safe online isnt just about not talking to strangers or having a strong password. its important to learn how to really keep your identity safe online and how to navigate your countrys laws
get a vpn and learn how to use an onion browser
everyday safety
its easier than you think to make the world around you safer. take a few actions to ensure you and your comrades are safe
- carry naloxone
- if you have a car then keep a stocked first aid kit
- wear a mask. kn95 / n95 are best but anything is better than nothing. if you have a car keep a box of disposable masks inside
- carry an epipen
